RELIABILITY 2000 IS SIGNED INTO LAW
Customers First!, a statewide coalition of electric utility customer
groups, today praised Governor Thompson’s signing of the Reliability
2000 initiative as contained in the budget bill.
The legislation, commonly referred to as R2K, should greatly enhance
energy reliability in Wisconsin and provide savings for consumers.
"The governor, and the legislature have put Wisconsin on the
leading edge of utility restructuring," said Lee Cullen, attorney
for Customers First!. "Wisconsin is at the forefront of making
changes to the industry that will lead to benefits for all customers."
